PRx distills State of the Valley 2012 into short film

Once a year, Joint Venture Silicon Valley convenes nonprofit, government and business leaders for a town hall meeting like no other: the State of the Valley conference. This year, PRx Digital produced a short film about the State of the Valley 2012, held on Feb. 10, for Joint Venture Silicon Valley.

We hope this film will help you take away the highlights of the conference and the lessons learned from its conversations. And we hope you'll share the film via social media with your networks so people who couldn't be there can understand the current state and future of Silicon Valley

The conference and the 2012 Silicon Valley Index presented by Joint Venture President and CEO Russell Hancock showed that there is an increase in hiring and economic activity in Silicon Valley in areas such as social media, but that not everyone is sharing in the recovery. In particular, the middle class and poorer Silicon Valley residents are being squeezed.

Silicon Valley Community Foundation CEO and President Emmett Carson highlights Proposition 13 as a major problem, and discussions from several panels of distinguished guests chart the course of Silicon Valley's future beyond 2012. John A. Sobrato was honored with the David Packard Award for civic entrepreneurship, and Knight Foundation Program Director Judith Kleinberg and others highlighted the importance of arts and culture to the future of the Valley.
