Multicultural Festival in Alviso Hosted by Supervisor Dave Cortese
What:
Day on the Bay: A Multicultural Festival—a day-long arts and community event in Alviso:
- informational displays on government, non-profit and community-based services available to the community
- ethnic food and art booths
- two stages of live entertainment
- activities include face-painting, kayak trips on Alviso slough, and arts and crafts
- free pumpkins for kids
- free flu shots

Details:
Alviso Marina County Park offers wildlife watching and plentiful recreational opportunities for families, including hiking and biking along miles of recently extended trails as well as kayaking from the boat launch that opened in July. The boat launch, which includes one pier for non-motorized craft such as kayaks and canoes and another for large motorized boats, is part of an ongoing project to revitalize the Alviso area. A boat trailer parking lot and wetland improvement project have also been completed to improve access to the bay. Alviso was once a hotbed for fisherman and business.
Supervisor Dave Cortese celebrates Alviso and its contribution to the health and vitality of the entire community with his Day on the Bay. He hopes the hundreds of families who attend will have fun and learn how to improve their health and wellness and get involved in the community.
